About the foundation
The money from the books supports the work of the Dan Snook Foundation Trust. The Dan Snook Trust Foundation was started in September 2009 and officially launched in August, 2010, in Vancouver, British Columbia. A registered Canadian charity, the Foudation helps young adults to overcome their barriers and to move forward with their journey, enabling them to realise there is a better life. The mission of the Foundation is to transform and enrich the lives of troubled people aged between 15-25 years, who have been subjected to sexual or substance abuse, or possibly both, struggling to cope with the pressures they find themselves under.
The Trust was founded in memory of Dan Snook. you can find out more about his story here. The Trust aims to reach out and help others as Dan had done throughout his life. Combining his love for the outdoors with a solid plan we believe the Trust can be a vehicle to support those who are truly lost and hopefully this may prevent the same tragedy. It is our long term goal to continue this work also in the UK.
who are we?
Kevin Snook and his two sons, Christopher and Elliot, are active Directors of the Foundation and are all passionate about supporting the charity and its chosen partners. They are supported by their Co-Director, Denise Ellis, and many members of the family, who have so enthusiastically given their thoughts, ideas and time. Through their international network of contacts and by developing 'Friends of the Trust' they will also strive to open doors for young people, who have previously felt that all were shut. Part of this will be introducing them to 'mentorship' schemes where hopefully their lives can be rebuilt.
